About RopeTech Telluride
In 1995, Juju started to work using his ropes on the Eiffel Tower. Since then, he's worked in the air on towers, antennas, and buildings. The nature of the job varied—window washing, sand-blasting, painting, tarp fitting, rock stabilization, cliff drilling, etc.—and Juju accumulated valuable experience in all facets of rope access work.
In 2004, he combined all his expertise and founded RopeTech in Telluride with the motto "One owner, one worker, one job at the time...quality first!" Being a sole proprietor assured accountability for each job, but the number of jobs grew exponentially. In 2006, Juju washed the windows of two 12,000 square foot houses and the Peaks Hotel and Spa (at nine stories high, easily the largest building in Telluride region) in 12 very long days.
Clearly it was time to rethink the “one owner, one worker” business model. The answer came via an old friend, Damon Johnston. Damon boasted a technical climbing background, a strong work ethic, and a head for business. RopeTech became a partnership in the spring of 2009. After another busy summer, Juju and Damon realized they needed more help. That fall, the company expanded again to include another friend, climber, and longtime local, Lance Waring, as a third member of RopeTech team.
With three owners and three workers, RopeTech now maintains commitments to local clients, takes on rope access work outside of town, and Juju, Damon, and Lance still have time to enjoy the things that brought them to Telluride.
